“This product sells itself!!!”

“This isn’t sales– it’s ‘sharing.’”

“Anyone can do this!”

Take the time to sit through an opportunity presentation for a networking marketing company, and you’ll undoubtedly hear those three phrases.  I’m not going to argue whether or not these phrases are true, but given the staggering percentage of independent reps that leave their network marketing company without ever making any money, I have to wonder about the wisdom of any of those cliches.

For those of you who have never tried network marketing, the following sequence is a pretty accurate synopsis of someone’s tenure in a given home business opportunity.  (For those of you who have had a network marketing business, see if this sounds familiar.)  You attend an opportunity meeting you were likely invited to by a friend or family member, and you hear a few testimonials about how awesome this product/opportunity is, how anyone can do this, and all you need to do is “share” the opportunity with others.

You find yourself all excited, you pay your “start-up” costs, you call a few friends, you get rejected, and your enthusiasm level starts to decline.  Your upline and other reps try and re-assure you that you need to take more “no’s,” you need to talk to more people, your belief isn’t deep enough, and they may even try and get you to purchase more “training” materials.

This cycle can last anywhere from a month to several years, but the end result is that you quit.  Then, sometime later, someone remembers that you joined one network marketing opportunity, and that makes you more likely than average to join another.  You then attend another opportunity meeting from a competing company, you hear about why their’s is better than the others’, and the cycle starts all over.

What’s missing here is any sensible solution to the core problem– Who are my prospects??  Your upline will likely tell you that everyone’s a prospect (this will be addressed in a later post,)  but that type of strategy is an incredible time-waster and even more incredibly frustrating.   The key to any business is to find QUALIFIED prospects; to paraphrase an article I read several years ago, “You don’t try and sell a delicious porterhouse steak to a vegetarian.”

There is an excellent REAL solution to break this nasty cycle and start putting yourself ahead of your competitors; it’s called Renegade University and its function is simple– To teach MLM marketing to network marketers.  Whether it be positioning, lead generation, copywriting, advertising, the list goes on; Renegade University is perhaps unlike anything in the industry in that it offers REAL business solutions and reverses the endless struggle of futility so many network marketers put themselves through.  You can learn more about Renegade University by simply clicking the icon to the right of the screen; it may be the most important eye-opener you’ll ever experience with your home business opportunity.
